When you book Steve you will have booked a man who is used to wearing many hats. First and foremost he wears the hat of a loving husband. He has two grown children where he wears the father hat. He wears the grandfather with much pride. These are the hats he wears 24/7. He takes life very seriously when life needs to be taken seriously. He knows how to laugh and have a great time. Steve was the 2003-2004 International Public Debate National Champion. He is an award winning after dinner speaker, and award winning informative and persuasive speaker as well. Steve did an internship with the Rusk Chamber of Commerce in the summer of 2004. He helped many companies in the city of Rusk understand the personalities of the individuals working for them. He also helped them be aware of the collective personality their individual company personified. Steve also taught the concept of perception. He feels the one lesson in communication that is the most important is perception. Whether communicating with family or a client, if you don't understand the other persons perception, then you are lost. Steve contracted in the summer of 2003 a 10 week television show, "The Lost Art of Communication." This television show dealt with topics ranging from how to be a better communicator to how to communicate through the way you dress. Steve is a highly energetic speaker. Most crowds start to hang on every word said from the first word spoken. He loves sharing ways to improve the communication climate in homes, offices, and even on the street. If you want a presenter to get the message across in a way that makes a difference, then Steve Goode is your person.
Steve and his wife, Linda, have owned and operated an Adult Foster Care home for ten years. They are highly respected in the state of Texas for the work they do.
Jenny Morris
I teach on many subjects, but my favorite part is the influence of family on your life. I consider myself to be very lucky. I have the privilege to work with one of the brightest, talented, gifted young ladies I have ever met. This person is Jenny, my daughter. She has impacted my life more than I could have ever wanted or hoped to impact hers. For being 25 years of age she shows maturity beyond her years. She has overcome so much for being so young. I respect her, and love her with all my heart. She is the one that you will reach when you contact Putting the Pieces Together. I consider myself fortunate to have such a loyal, hard working employee (daughter). Who knows, one day she might even get up on stage with me because she has lessons in life she has learned that needs to be shared.
Linda Goode
Linda is the kindest, sweetest, most loving wife a man could ask for. She supports every thing I do and never has a discouraging word. Okay she has is no longer watching what I type so I can tell the truth. Linda is the kindest, sweetest, most loving wife a man could ever ask for. She supports everything I do and never has a discouraging word. Funny, most of the time, the things we say to a person are not the same things we say when there not around. However, I mean every word I say about her. She has pushed me beyond my boundaries just to show me I can do anything I want. She is the reason I get up in the morning, and she is the reason I want to help as many people as I can. I want to take this time and publicly say thank you to her for putting up with me, listening to my ideas for sessions and being my friend. She has a powerful story to tell so at any conference she is at, come up and talk to her.
Put the Pieces Together has grown quicker and larger than ever expected. We started out sharing ideas with local people and soon began leading sessions on these ideas. Now Steve has presented in nine different states. He has shared his knowledge with schools, universities, diverse organizations, and to various departments of many state governments.
When Steve Goode came to the university, he chose me to be his professor in the Mentor Program. This has been one of the most rewarding professional and personal experiences of my life. This synergetic relationship emerged into what I have termed, "Reverse Mentoring." From my perspective, I have learned as much from Steve as he proclaims he has learned from me. Perhaps this is what education/learning is all about! I encourage you to invite Steve to conduct a program for your organization. The end result of his expertise concerning perception, self acceptance and conflict resolution, etc.will produce far better communication for everyone, thus improving the productivity of your organization.
