This story is pure fiction; it is not about someone I know. It
is about that family we have all known at least one time in
our lives. That family struggling, scared, alone, abandoned
and desperate all or one of the above. It is about that family
or person that makes me feel so ashamed when I think
how I have complained to God about the slightest
discomfort in my life. It is not my purpose to reveal the
ending of this story but I will tell you it has a happy ending.
This story will touch your heart and stir your emotions. If it
doesn’t check your pulse.

The word "mentor" brings to mind pairing people for
learning opportunities, usually with the older, more
experienced person doing the teaching. However,
because of our technological age, younger employees
often coach senior executives, allowing seniors to learn
much from juniors or the less experienced. Therefore,
reverse mentoring can be most effective when senior
mentors are teachable and humble about the process. As
a university professor, I have learned a deeper dimension
of life from former students; thus, they became
Student-Mentors. The wonderful perspectives given in this
book were written by former students of mine. Each one
made a meaningful impact not only in their classrooms
and on their teacher but upon our society as well. They
help us to look beyond our pain and see God at work in
life's tragedies. Let their stories inspire you to live your life
in such a way as to positively influence your world.

While there are no easy solutions to the problem of grief,
there are resolutions. Resolving Grief is about learning to
adjust while resolving our pain. It is for those who are
grieving and for those who desire to understand sorrow
so that they may afford others comfort and understanding.
The author's advice is practical and deeply rooted in faith.
His expertise ranges from telling children about death to
surviving the holidays after a loss, as well as dealing with
loneliness and preparing for one's own death. A bonus
question and- answer section reveals how suicide
uniquely affects loved ones left behind. He also examines
anticipatory grief-the stages of pre-grieving that family and
friends may experience prior to a terminal illness.
Addressing the inevitable question of "why" tragedy
occurs, the author shares his own poignant experience
with grief and his frustrating journey back to hope. As a
result, he encourages us, "Grief is not an option, but
recovery is!"
